Lydbury North Community shop opened in 2001, providing a much-needed local shopping andPost Office facility. The shop, which isopen seven days a week, is run entirely by volunteers.
Although the premises are small, we endeavour to stock a comprehensive range of essentials, including groceries, confectionery, frozen foods, household products, newspapers and magazines, pet food, toiletries, mobile top-ups, cigarettes, postage stamps and some seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Lydbury North Community shop is rather like the Tardis - there is a lot more inside! A list of the major items we stock can be seen here.
You can use the search box to see if we stock a particular item.
In addition, we stock freshly made sandwiches and take-away coffee at very reasonable prices and carry a good selection of wines and beers.
Wherever possible, we like to support the local economy and you can enjoy sausages, pies, cakes, eggs, milk, fruit and vegetables obtained from local producers.
Newspapers and magazines can either be placed on order, or purchased from the selection of popular titles on display. We do, of course, accept vouchers for those customers who prefer to buy their newspapers via subscription.
We also have a pleasant garden, provided with seating and tables, where one can sit and enjoy a snack and/or a hot or cold drink.
As the shop is run entirely by volunteers, you can be sure that our prices will always be very competitive and reasonable.
On Wednesday afternoon, the shop hosts a mobile service provided by the Post Office.
